"YCC: And the cattle graze in and around the turbines? Ferrell: As the ranchers in California predicted, there has been virtually no impact on the cattle operation. We’ve had virtually no interference between our ranching operation and the wind farm operation whatsoever."

“Economically, it’s beneficial,” he says. “It provides an opportunity for the next generation to come back in a larger fashion. The ability to give to the community and provide opportunities for other people to come to the ranch and enjoy it – we do that anyway with hunting, fishing and public access, but it gives us an opportunity to do more of that.” The extra roads are nice, and he says his cattle and the wildlife don’t seem to care about the turbines. Cattle graze underneath the tall towers and follow their shade during the day.
